Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how TexTune (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the TexTune mobile application (“the App” or “Services”).

TexTune is a premium mobile app that transforms short text messages into personalized, shareable music tracks perfectly matched to your desired mood. We have designed TexTune to limit the personal data we collect to what is needed to operate the App and to understand how people discover it. We do, however, use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure the performance of our advertising, which involves collecting and sharing certain device and usage information as described in Sections 2.5 and 4. By using TexTune, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Anonymous User Accounts

To provide a seamless experience, TexTune automatically creates an anonymous user account via Supabase the first time you launch the app. We do not require, ask for, or collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, phone number, or social media accounts to use the App. However, as described in Section 2.5, our advertising-measurement partner may automatically receive certain device and advertising identifiers associated with your device.

2.2 Text Inputs and Selections

When you use TexTune to create a song, you input a text message (between 30 and 200 characters) and select a genre and a tone. This data is securely sent to our third-party music generation service provider to create your custom audio track. We do not use the content of your text messages for advertising or ad-measurement purposes.

2.3 Generated Audio

The custom music tracks generated from your text are delivered back to your device for in-app playback. You then have the option to keep, regenerate, or share the song. We do not build user profiles based on your text inputs or the audio you generate.

2.4 Subscription and Payment Data

TexTune generation features are exclusively subscription-gated. All subscriptions, free trials, and payments are securely processed through Apple's App Store and managed by our backend billing provider, RevenueCat. TexTune does not directly receive, process, or store your credit card details, Apple ID, or billing information.

2.5 Advertising Measurement and Analytics Data

To understand how people discover TexTune and to measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaigns we run (for example, ads on Facebook and Instagram), we use the Meta (Facebook) SDK and its App Events feature. When you use the App, this SDK may collect and share with Meta Platforms, Inc. information such as:

  • Device and advertising identifiers, including Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) where you have permitted tracking, and other device identifiers.
  • Technical information such as IP address, device model, operating system version, and similar device attributes.
  • App activity and event data — such as app installs, app launches, and subscription purchases — used to measure conversions and attribute them to our marketing campaigns.

We use this information to measure how our advertising performs, attribute installs and subscriptions to specific campaigns, and reach people who may be interested in TexTune. Meta processes the information it receives in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not control how Meta independently uses data it collects across its own products and services.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information collected solely to provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality and to understand how our marketing performs, specifically to:

  • Generate your personalized music tracks from your text, genre, and tone inputs.
  • Authenticate your device session using an anonymous Supabase identifier.
  • Verify your active subscription status via RevenueCat to grant access to the App's premium generation features.
  • Measure the performance of our advertising and attribute app installs and subscriptions to specific marketing campaigns using the Meta SDK.
  • Monitor app performance, diagnose technical issues, and improve the user experience.

4. Third-Party Services

TexTune integrates with select third-party services to function. These providers handle data according to their own strict privacy policies:

  • Supabase: Serves as our backend infrastructure and manages anonymous user authentication.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription tracking and validates App Store purchases. (RevenueCat Privacy Policy)
  • Apple: Processes your subscription payments and controls billing. (Apple Privacy Policy)
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook): Provides the Meta SDK and App Events feature, which we use to measure advertising conversions and attribute app installs and purchases to our marketing campaigns. (Meta Privacy Policy)
  • Music Generation API Provider: Receives your text input, genre, and tone selections to generate the requested audio output.

5. Sharing Content via Native Share Sheet

When you choose to send your generated song to friends (via iMessage, WhatsApp, etc.), this action is handled entirely through your device's native OS sharing capabilities (the “Share Sheet”). TexTune does not access your contacts, monitor who you share songs with, or intercept the messages you send.

6. Children's Privacy

TexTune is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly use advertising-measurement tools, such as the Meta SDK, to process data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us so we can take steps to remove that data.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect the anonymous data processed by TexTune. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You have meaningful control over the advertising-related data described in this policy:

  • App Tracking (iOS): When the App asks for permission to track, you may decline. You can also change this at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Trackingon your device. If you do not allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) will not be shared for cross-app measurement.
  • U.S. state privacy rights:Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Colorado, or Connecticut), you may have the right to opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We apply Meta's Limited Data Use signal where applicable to support these rights.
  • EEA, UK, and Switzerland: Where required by law, we will request your consent before engaging in tracking or sharing personal data for advertising measurement.
  • Access and deletion: You may request access to or deletion of the data we process. Because TexTune operates using anonymous user identifiers and does not collect direct contact information, fulfilling some requests may require you to provide specific device or app identifiers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect updates to our features or regulatory requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of TexTune after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
